When the main line power is lost, the POWERVATOR® Emergency Return Unit automatically activates to allow traction passenger and freight elevators to rise or lower to an available floor and open the doors, thus eliminating any entrapment of passengers.

When the main line power is lost, the elevator cab air conditioning system will remain active, ensuring passenger comfort in potential cases of elevator entrapment.

Both the 7,100 BTU series and 14,000 BTU series supply enough power to energize air conditioning systems for two hours.
